Happy In Hawaii! And What's New for Hawaii Beads?

Aloha from Maui!

Yes, it is just beautiful here today. I sit at my workroom window and look into Iao Valley here in Wailuku.

My latest venture is to be making wonderful Friendship Bracelets! They have taken off, and I am busy busy making up orders and coming up with new designs.
My bracelets can be seen in my Etsy shop misscecesjewels.etsy.com

I was talking to a friend at the Swap Meet over in Kahului on Saturday mornings. She mentioned making something that will sell for an affordable price. Well, I wanted to find something to do with all those seed beads that I have from when I had the bead shop over on Main Street. And the little bracelets are a perfect fit! Very affordable, starting at $10. And I am also adding bracelets that are made with tiny gemstone beads.

These little bracelets can be worn alone, but look great stacked with you other favorites. I like to mix and match with what I am wearing each day.

I plan on having a great day out here in the middle of the ocean, and hope you will too!
Find something that makes you smile, and keep that smile going...spread it around. Aloha, Cece

Time to Share

Aloha!
And there went that year!
It has been a year of selling, creating new jewelry designs, and travel.

This last April was a great trip to California. Including visiting family and friends.

We traveled up Hwy. 99 and visited each and every town along the route up to Marysville. I will tell you, it takes a while to get that far when you NEED to stop at every single Thrift and Antique store in each town!

It was worth every minute, and we came home with some fabulous and exciting Vintage Jewelry, that can be seen in our 3 online stores:
The original store HAWAIIBEADS on Ebay. Plus our second store kenmauiphoto7 on Ebay.

And on Etsy, my Handcrafted Jewelry store: www.hawaiibeads.etsy.com

And my new Vintage Costume Jewelry store: www.hawaiibeads2.etsy.com

I hope that you will look us up and browse around. Aloha!

Where is Time Going?

Time just flies when you are having fun...Doesn't it?

I am spending my days enjoying Maui, and using me time to keep both my Etsy and Ebay stores full of wonderful Handcrafted Jewelry and Vintage Costume Jewelry!

Plus, this summer, I spent time with Ken setting up his own wonderful stores on both Etsy and Ebay. Featuring his beautiful Photographs. And then, lo and behold, he got the Vintage Jewelry bug! Now, he is taking time to list his own selection of Vintage Costume Jewelry on Ebay.

We will be doing one craft fair for the Holidays this year. We will be doing the Ben Franklin Craft Fair at Maui High School on November 23rd. We will have a full selection of our Handcrafted Jewelry, plus, Ken will bring along a few pieces of our sparkling Vintage Jewelry.

If you are on Maui that week, be sure to stop by the fair and visit us!

Aloha!

Arizona Thrills

Aloha! Here we are in Phoenix Arizona! We had a wonderful time this last week down in Tucson Arizona. We caught up with our niece, Annette and her family and spent a great time visiting with her. We even managed a 'girl day' and got hair cuts and are both much blonder than we were last week! I am very 'citified', and I love it.
She also has 4 of the cutest doggies, I will post some photos, but here is Marley. Who could not love dogs?
Loads of great food, lots of thrift store shopping and delightful company. Life is good.

El Paso

Aloha one more time. Of course, going through El Paso had this song in my mind the whole time, and to save you the trouble of looking up the words here they are. And I highly recommend downloading this wonderful song by Marty Robbins, it gives me goosebumps each time I hear his haunting vocals.

El Paso Marty Robbins

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl.
Night-time would find me in Rosa's cantina;
Music would play and Felina would whirl.

Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,
Wicked and evil while casting a spell.
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden;
I was in love but in vain, I could tell.

One night a wild young cowboy came in,
Wild as the West Texas wind.
Dashing and daring,
A drink he was sharing
With wicked Felina,
The girl that I loved.

So in anger I

Challenged his right for the love of this maiden.
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.

Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;
I had but one chance and that was to run.

Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran,
Out where the horses were tied.
I caught a good one.
It looked like it could run.
Up on its back
And away I did ride,

Just as fast as I

Could from the West Texas town of El Paso
Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico.

Back in El Paso my life would be worthless.
Everything's gone in life; nothing is left.
It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
My love is stronger than my fear of death.

I saddled up and away I did go,
Riding alone in the dark.
Maybe tomorrow
A bullet may find me.
Tonight nothing's worse than this
Pain in my heart.

And at last here I

Am on the hill overlooking El Paso;
I can see Rosa's cantina below.
My love is strong and it pushes me onward.
Down off the hill to Felina I go.

Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys;
Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.
I have to make it to Rosa's back door.

Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side.
Though I am trying
To stay in the saddle,
I'm getting weary,
Unable to ride.

But my love for

Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen,
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

From out of nowhere Felina has found me,
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
One little kiss and Felina, good-bye.
